MLTC Awarded Prestigious Clubmark Award
In December 2008, Maidenhead LTC received the LTA Clubmark award. The club had to demonstrate high standards of child protection, coaching, equity and good management through a series of visits by the LTA to show that our processes and procedures were top notch!
There are only 3 tennis clubs in Berkshire accredited with Clubmark status and 130 nationally.
Roger Draper Chief Executive of the LTA said “the Clubmark Award is significant to the future of British Tennis as it recognises clubs that are delivering for British Tennis and supports clubs to develop their on court programme and off court policies and procedures in line with best practice”. The Clubmark Award is recognised across sports so watch out for the Logo at other junior sports clubs that you may attend!
A large amount of the requirements for ‘Clubmark’ are aimed at making tennis more enjoyable and safe for our Junior members.
You may also wish to know that Clubmark continues to require us to maintain our Child Protection procedures (detailed on the club notice board), control photography at the club and ensure the safety of Juniors participating in club activities at other venues. An information folder containing further information and relevant forms is kept in the entrance hall of the clubhouse.
